HEROES

Havana, Cuba, 2007.

I have always considered Che Guevara and Fidel Castro as authentic heroes. Two months living in Havana during the period Fidel handed over the power to his younger brother, Raul Castro, due to his illness, it was when I had the opportunity to meet other heroes. They were all around the places in the streets I walked through. I talked to them while I photographed them. These people impressed me by the power in their eyes and also by their attitude. There are 11 million heroes striking hardly everyday against the rest of the world. And certainly they'll win. The Cuban History fascinates me unlike the Brazlian History that embarasses me every day.
